Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has once again made some controversial comments in the media. This time, Afridi spoke in favor of the Taliban, who have recently taken over Afghanistan.

Afridi shockingly praised the Taliban and said they have come with a ‘positive mindset’. "Taliban have come with a very positive mindset. They’re allowing ladies to work. And I believe Taliban like cricket a lot," he told media in Pakistan.

"Taliban is giving jobs to ladies, supporting cricket and the cricket series against Pakistan as well. Taliban is very positive towards cricket," Afridi added.

The ex-cricketer was slammed on Twitter for his comments. This is not the first time he is making objectionable comments related to politics. Afridi has often targeted India in the past in his speeches regarding the Kashmir issue.

Recently, Afridi had backed the Kashmir Premier League in the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir region. Ironically, the 44-year-old called out BCCI for mixing politics with cricket.

“Really disappointing that BCCI is once again mixing cricket and politics! KPL is a league for Kashmir, Pakistan and cricket fans around the world. We will put up a wonderful show and won’t be deterred with such behavior!!”, he had tweeted.

Here are the reactions to his comments in support of Taliban:
