Australia's Ash Barty won her second Grand Slam singles title with a three-set victory (6-3, 6-7, 6-3) over Karolina Pliskova in the 2021 Wimbledon women's final. The Cricket fraternity congratulated Barty for her achievement as she ended Australia's 41-year-long wait for a women's singles champion at Wimbledon.

The newly crowned Wimbledon champion, Barty has played professional cricket and she was part of the Women’s Big Bash League. She had taken a break from Tennis in 2014 and played cricket.

It truly was an amazing period of my life," Barty had said on her cricket career earlier. “I met an amazing group of people who couldn’t care less whether I could hit a tennis ball or not."
