Football star Cristiano Ronaldo said no to Coca-Cola during a press conference at the European Championship. He kept two Coca-Cola bottles aside placed in front of him. Ronaldo encouraged others to pick water over soft drinks by taking out a water bottle.

After the incident, fans on social media have started to point out the celebrities who endorsed Coca-Cola. One of the cricket fans from Sri Lanka tagged ex-cricketer Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara for promoting the soft drink.

But Jayawardena shut him down by responding with a picture of Ronaldo who can be seen in an advertisement of Coca-Cola. He reminded the Twitter user that he doesn't endorse the soft drink now.

“Oops!!! You did it again!! should do the sky dive with out the parachute next time,” read the caption.

On 14 July 2014, Mahela Jayawardena announced his retirement from Test cricket after the 2014 Pakistan series. He later retired from ODI cricket in 2015 after playing against South Africa in the World Cup.
