Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis got injured in a nasty collision while playing for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday (June 12). He collided with Mohammad Hasnain while diving to stop a boundary.

Du Plessis' wife Imari du Plessis expressed concern for her husband after the scary collision. The incident took place in the 7th over of Peshawar Zalmi's innings when the South African cricketer's head hit Hasnain's knee and he fell on the ground.

Imari shared a picture of Du Plessis sitting in the dugout and she wrote that he should be treated in the hospital. Taking to her Instagram story, she posted, "This is killing me right now. Surely he should be checked in hospital?!??". Later she also penned a touching note.

As per team management, Du Plessis was taken to a hospital in Abu Dhabi soon after his nasty collision with Gladiators teammate. Left-handed batsman Saim Ayub was named as the concussion substitute for him.

This was the second consecutive match when Gladiators had to use concussion substitute. They needed a concussion sub in the last match when West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was hit on the helmet by Mohammad Musa with a quick bouncer. Pacer Naseem Shah had replaced Russell in the second innings of the match.
