India skipper Virat Kohli and his actor wife Anushka Sharma always do their bit to help the underprivileged section of society.
The celebrity recently helped a child suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SPA) – a rare genetic disorder. The patient named Ayaansh Gupta needed a medicine called Zolgensma, which costs ₹16 crore, to treat the disease.

Ayaansh's parents set up a Twitter account by the name of AyaanshFightsSMA and expressed gratitude towards several stars, including Kohli and Anushka on Monday (May 25).
“@imVkohli & @AnushkaSharma - we always loved you as fans. But what you have done for Ayaansh and this campaign is beyond what we expected. Thanks for your generosity. You helped us win this match of life with a six! Will always be indebted for your help to #saveayaanshgupta,” they tweeted.
Apart from Kohli and Anushka, Bollywood stars such as Emraan Hashmi, Sara Ali Khan, Dia Mirza, Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, Arjun Kapoor also came forward to help the parents raise funds.
Earlier this month, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma extended their support to India’s fight against the second COVID-19 wave, donating ₹2 crore to a fund-raising project, which eventually raised a total of ₹11 crore to help the needy.
The campaign ran for 7 days on crowd-funding platform Ketto and the amount was transferred to ACT Grants, the implementation partner which worked towards providing oxygen, medical manpower, vaccination awareness and tele-medicine facilities.
