Team India women's batter Smriti Mandhana received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The southpaw took the jab on Tuesday (11 May) and posted a photo of herself taking the jab on social media and urged her fans to get themselves vaccinated.
“1st dose, Please stay safe and get yourself #vaccinated,” Mandhana wrote as the caption to her Instagram post.
Due to a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases across the country, the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) was suspended indefinitely by the BCCI and IPL governing council and unfortunately, the Women’s T20 Challenge was postponed as well.
