Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan met India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Dhaka. PM Modi has visited Bangladesh on the invitation of his counterpart Sheikh Hasina to participate in their National Day celebrations on March 26.
Shakib, in a video, said Indian PM's visit to Bangladesh is good for both countries. The 34-year-old also expressed happiness over his meeting with Modi and added that he hopes the relationship of the two countries keep getting better in the coming days.
“This is Shakib-al-Hasan, really honoured to meet honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi ji," he said.
"His visit to Bangladesh will be a fruitful one for both the countries. And the leadership he has shown for India has been tremendous. I hope our relationship with India gets better day by day,” the cricketer added.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had come to receive Modi at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
“Landed in Dhaka. I thank PM Sheikh Hasina for the special welcome at the airport. This visit will contribute to even stronger bilateral relations between our nations,” India's PM tweeted.
