Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has recently revealed a better batsman between India’s batting giants and consistent performers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Kohli and Rohit have been two of the best batsmen in the world while India captain is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen across all three formats of the game, whereas Mumbai lad has arguably been one of the best white-ball batsmen for nearly one decade.
At the moment, Kohli is the top-ranked ODI batsman while Rohit is ranked second in the world. They are also among the top ten in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. India captain is ranked 5th in the T20Is.
The two experienced batsmen are the backbone of India’s batting line-up, scoring most runs for their team over the years and also on a consistent basis, leaving the cricket experts and fans to debate over the comparison of the two batting legends of the modern era.
Recently, a fan asked Gibbs whom he would rank higher between Kohli and Rohit, and the former South African batsman named the Indian captain while pointing out one of Kohli’s flick shots during the second T20I against England on Sunday (March 14) in Ahmedabad.
A Twitter user asked, “Who do you rate higher Rohit or Virat?” To which, Gibbs replied by saying: “There’s @imVkohli with that flick again.”
Well, the fan didn’t expect a reply from the cricketer but he was quick to notice and replied while making clear that he has no doubt about his pick between Kohli and Rohit.
He tweeted: “Virat def(initely)”.
