WATCH - "I was extremely surprised", T Natarajan gets a warm reception at his hometown

India's pacer T Natarajan got a very warm reception at his native village after a memorable outing on his first Australia tour. He shared pictures on his Twitter account showing the love he got from the local people.

Natarajan wrote he was surprised and elated after receiving such a grand welcome at his hometown in Chinnappampatti. The pacer made his debut for India in all three formats on the tour to Australia.

"I was elated, ecstatic, and extremely surprised by the reception at my hometown, Chinnappampatti. Thanks a ton for the love and support," he tweeted.

A huge crowd was gathered to welcome the cricket star on the roads of Sinappampatti village in Tamil Nadu's Salem district. Natarajan can be seen wearing a mask and gloves while acknowledging the support of his people from a chariot. 

Everyone was eager to get a glimpse of Natarajan and many of them held mobile in their hand to capture the moment. There were fireworks too to celebrate the achievement of the 29-year-old.

The Indian cricketer may not have experienced something like this before in his village.
