Tamil Nadu cricket association (TNCA) secretary RS Ramasaamy on Tuesday confirmed that the BCCI has allowed a 50% crowd in the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the second Test match between India and England which begins from February 13 onwards.
The first match of the four-match Test series, however, which begins on 5th February at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai will be played behind closed doors.
TNCA secretary RS Ramasaamy said that the association has got the final approval from the BCCI to allow fans to come in for the second game of the four-match Test series.
"We will have 50 percent crowd for the second Test," said RS Ramasaamy.
However, BCCI official on Monday also confirmed that fans will be allowed to come in for the final two Test matches which are set to take place at the new Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad.
Earlier, the reports suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to invite PM Narendra Modi for the third match, replying to which BCCI officials answered in the affirmative.
The third Test, which also happens to be a day-night affair, will be played between February 24-28, the fourth and final match will take place from March 04.
Meanwhile both the teams are out of their mandatory six-day quarantine period and have started to prepare themselves ahead of the first Test match.
