International cricket fraternity rises to applaud MS Dhoni after his retirement

Dhoni announced retirement on India's 74th Independence Day.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni dropped a bombshell on Saturday (August 15) evening as he announced his retirement from international cricket on Instagram, which instantly brought out a lot of emotion in his fans and teammates who have adored him through his journey in international cricket, which started in Bangladesh in 2004.

Dhoni is very well respected not just in India but also around the cricketing world, where he won hearts of people through his humble and calm demeanour. He also enjoyed a lot of success particularly in white-ball cricket for India around the world, as a player and as a captain winning lots of series for the country.

He scored over 17,000 runs and affected more than 800 dismissals with the gloves in his international career and was known as the best finisher in the game because of his ability to change gears almost at will. There is no doubt that Dhoni would be missed not just by Indian fans but also by cricket fans all around the world.

Paying tribute to Dhoni's glittering cricket career, the international cricket fraternity joined the Indian cricket fraternity in saluting the man often addressed as 'Captain Cool'.
