Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the 8th incarnation of Vishnu on EarthToday, August 11, 2020, is the day of celebrations for Hindus everywhere in the world, as they celebrated the festival Janmashtami. It is celebrated all across Northern India to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.

Lord Krishna is believed to be the 8th incarnation of Vishnu on Earth and is said to be born on the eighth day of Shravan month. On the auspicious occasion, people enact dance-dramas based on the life of Krishna according to Bhagavata Purana, sing devotional songs throughout midnight and fast through the day.

Indian cricket fraternity was also at the forefront in wishing their fans on Twitter on the holy occasion of Janmashtami.
