New Zealand Cricket (NZC) CEO David White on Tuesday (August 11) confirmed that tours from Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and West Indies are all on for the 2020-21 home summer despite the threat amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

While the necessary bio-secure arrangements for all fixtures are still being worked out, White said for now the fact that all teams have agreed to visit the Kiwi shores is an excellent development.

"I was just on the phone to the West Indies, they're confirmed, Pakistan is confirmed, Australia and Bangladesh, so (there will be) 37 days of international cricket," he told reporters. 

The model of bio-secure bubbles that England has adopted to host its ongoing season is likely to be replicated, with the visitors accommodated at venues offering on-sight hotels and adhering to quarantine regulations, being regularly tested and training before on-field action. 

All those arriving in New Zealand are currently required to go through a 14-day strictly supervised isolation period. 

Domestically, though, with the New Zealand government tackling the deadly outbreak the best, people have been enjoying a near-normal lifestyle. 

"We're working through that with the government agencies at the moment, a similar concept... the agencies have been really supportive, the government's been fantastic," said White. 

A detailed schedule, comprising dates and venues, is expected to be announced in not too distant future.
