Indian cricket fraternity sends birthday wishes to Ajinkya Rahane as he turns 32

Rahane is one of India’s leading batsmen in Test cricket for some time now.

Ajinkya Rahane | AFPIndia batsman Ajinkya Rahane is celebrating his 32nd birthday today (June 6). Having made his international debut in 2011, Rahane has come a long way to become one of India’s leading batsmen in Test cricket. In fact, he is one of the only two Indian batsmen from the current lot to have an average of above 40 outside Asia.

Rahane also played a massive role in two of India’s most meaningful overseas victories in recent times – Lord’s 2014 and Johannesburg 2018. While the classy right-hander scored a majestic 103 in the first innings of Lord’s Test on a green mamba, he played a glorious knock of 48 in the second innings of Wanderers Test on a treacherous pitch.

During his 9-year long international career, Rahane has represented India in 65 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is thus far. The Mumbai batsman has amassed 4203 Test runs at an average of 42.88 with 11 tons and 22 fifties, whereas his ODI and T20I runs tally read 2962 and 375 respectively.

As India’s Test vice-captain enters in the new season of his life, wishes poured in for him from the cricketing fraternity.
