Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has yet again raised the Kashmir issue on Friday (May 15), voicing his support for the Kashmiri people on social media.

Kashmir, like every other part of India, is currently under lockdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which has claimed more than 2,600 lives so far in the country.

Like everyone else, Kashmiris are also struggling during this COVID-19 lockdown and Afridi, who has been doing a lot of humanitarian work to help his country in the fight against the pandemic, has also urged people to help the needy people in the valley.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, the legendary all-rounder said: “The real beauty of Kashmir lies in the valiant spirit of courageous Kashmiris. Shahid Afridi Foundation values their sacrifices and honors their commitment to Pakistan. #DonateKaroNa #HopeNotOut”

Hours after following the tweet, Afridi has come out with another post saying: “Save Kashmir”.

He wrote on Twitter amid the COVID-19 crisis: “It does not take a religious belief to feel the agony of Kashmiris…just a right heart at the right place.”

Noteworthy, this is not the first time that the former Pakistan all-rounder, who enjoys a huge fan following in Kashmir, has raised the Kashmir issue, he has been involved in a number of Twitter wars with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir regarding the same.

Last year, Afridi had also visited the Line of Control (LoC) to “express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren” after the Indian government revoked Article 370 of the Indian constitution and even called for intervention by the UN and the US over the same.
