Wasim Jaffer names Sunil Gavaskar as captain of his all-time Mumbai XI since 1970

On Saturday (April 11), former India opener Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter and named his all-time Mumbai XI since 1970. He handed over the reins of the star-studded line-up to the legendary Sunil Gavaskar.

Jaffer, who represented India in 31 Tests and 2 ODIs, selected Rohit Sharma to open alongside Gavaskar while he picked Dilip Vengsarkar to bat at the crucial No. 3 position.

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and stylish left-hander Vinod Kambli were slotted at No. 4 and 5 by Jaffer. Chandrakant Pandit was the designated wicketkeeper in the team.

While picking the bowlers, Jaffer went with Sairaj Bahutule/Ramesh Powar and Padmakar Shivalkar as his spin options while Ajit Agarkar/ Abdul Ismail, Zaheer Khan and Abey Kuruvilla form the pace attack of the side.

Wasim Jaffer also asked the Twitterati for their opinion on the team, in which he included right-handed batsman Ghulam Parkar as 12th man.
