Wasim Jaffer named MS Dhoni as the captain of his all-time ODI XI | GettyWith countries going into lockdown, closing borders and issuing travel restrictions to combat the spread of Coronavirus, cricket has come to a standstill.

Amid the crisis, former and current cricket stars are keeping themselves occupied by engaging with fans on social media.

On Saturday (April 4), former India opener Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter and named his all-time ODI XI. He picked compatriot MS Dhoni as the leader of the star-studded line-up, which includes three other Indians.

Jaffer, who represented India in two ODIs, opted to go with Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma as his two openers. He picked West Indies great Sir Vivian Richards as his No. 3 batsman followed by the current India skipper Virat Kohli and former Proteas captain AB de Villiers.

Jaffer surprised many with his choice of all-rounder at No.6 as he went with England’s Ben Stokes, ignoring the likes of legendary Jacques Kallis, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, among others.

Dhoni, the designated wicketkeeper in the side, was placed to bat at No. 7 while Jaffer named Shane Warne/Saqlain Mushtaq for the one spinner’s slot.

Wasim Akram, Joel Garner and Glenn McGrath form an intimidating fast bowling attack in Jaffer’s all-time ODI XI, which also has three-time World Cup winner Ricky Ponting as 12th man.
