"Words will never be able to describe what a moment for every Indian it was, this is what we live for !!jai Hind," an emotional Yuvraj tweeted.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men reigned supreme at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, defeating Sri Lanka in the final to be crowned world champions in the 50-over format for the second time.

And Yuvraj had a major role in that. He was outstanding with both bat and ball throughout the campaign, scoring 362 runs at 90.50 and taking 15 wickets at 21.53 in nine games.

It remains one of the best all-round performance in the history of the game, especially under that level of pressure. Yuvraj, then also coping up with the first signs of cancer, battled great deal of adversity to pull India through to glory.

The southpaw was deservingly awarded the "Player-of-the-Tournament".

It was fitting that Yuvraj was there when skipper Dhoni finished it off in style.
