There is always a debate regarding the most challenging delivery in cricket for a batsman. Some feel it is a well-directed bouncer while others go with inswinging delivery. But majority of the pundits and fans unanimously agree that the yorker is the most difficult ball to tackle.

For those who aren’t aware, yorker is a full-length delivery which is pitched in front of a batsman’s feet. It is certainly tough to master the art of yorker but some of the amazing fast bowlers have managed to get it right in international cricket on regular basis.

Recently, former India cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra went about enlisting his top six bowlers of yorkers in international cricket.

Aakash slotted former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff at the sixth spot. Flintoff used to produce deadly reverse-swinging yorkers and it is something that the ex-India opener pointed out while naming him.

Chopra named Australia’s Mitchell Starc and India’s Jasprit Bumrah at No. 5 and No. 4 positions respectively. Starc and Bumrah are easily the deadliest exponents of this delivery in modern-day cricket.

The next two spots are held by Pakistan pace legends Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. While Wasim was famous for his inswinging and out-swinging yorkers at rapid pace, Waqar had the ability to bamboozle batsmen with his reverse-swinging toe-crushers.

Aakash picked Sri Lanka speedster Lasith Malinga for the top spot. Malinga can execute yorkers at will and has the slingy action, which makes it extremely difficult for the batsmen to combat.
