WATCH - Dhoni, De Villiers feature among Aakash Chopra's top six power-hitters

Former India Test cricketer Aakash Chopra enlisted his top six power-hitters.

AB de Villiers | GettyFormer India Test batsman-turned-commentator and cricket analyst, Aakash Chopra, went about enlisting his top six power-hitters of the modern-day game.

Chopra came up with the list of players who he thought are capable of absolutely destroying an opposition attack on their day, keeping in mind their prowess against all kinds of bowling; spin or pace, Chopra reckons, these are batsmen who'll overcome it all and muscle the ball out of the park.

West Indies legend Chris Gayle stands right at the top in Chopra's list and with reason; the "Universe Boss" has been a dominating force in white-ball cricket with an astonishing record of 860 sixes in his career, the most by any batsman.

Up next is the ever-classy Rohit Sharma, who remains one of the finest timers of the cricket ball but also someone capable of playing the big shot with complete ease. Rohit has been absolutely brilliant playing for India in white-ball cricket and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

The dangerous Andrew Russell is third in Chopra's list for a simple reason that Russell can just pulverize a bowling attack in T20 cricket and set the opposition into panic mode very very quickly, hitting balls into the second tier with the never-seen-before regularity.

Fourth is the India great, and sixer-king Yuvraj Singh, who lit up the stadiums in his hey-day and once struck six sixes in an over against England's Stuart Broad during the inaugural T20 World Cup all those years back.

One thing is having the power-hitting ability, the other is making shrewd use of it; Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his prime was an absolute master of the art. Hence, the former India captain features fifth in Chopra's list with as many as 568 sixes in his career.

Last but certainly not the least, AB de Villiers rounds off the list with his ability to hit the ball 360 degrees, playing around with the field like only he can. De Villiers' legend is one of maintaining the balance between technical correctness and unorthodoxy.
