The world has come to a standstill amid the novel Coronavirus outbreak across the five continents. The situation is so grim that people are trying to stay indoors for the maximum amount of time.

Most of the sporting events have been either cancelled or rescheduled while the businesses and trading have taken a massive blow.

At present, India has tested more than 100 positive cases for COVID-19 and recorded two deaths due to the pandemic, which has claimed over 6,500 lives globally while infecting close to 1,69,000.

Disturbed by the growing Coronavirus concerns, India opener Rohit Sharma on Monday (March 16) shared a heartwarming message for people worldwide.

Taking to Twitter, Rohit posted a video in which he said: "Last few weeks have been tough for all of us and the world has come to a standstill which is very sad to see. The only way we can get back to normal is by all of us coming together. And we can do this by being a little smart, a little proactive, knowing our surroundings and as and when we get any symptoms inform your nearest medical authorities because we all want kids go to the school, we all want to go to the malls, we all want to watch movies in theatres.”

He also lauded the doctors and nurses for their unprecedented efforts in this difficult time.

“I appreciate the efforts of the doctors and the nurses around the world who have put their lives at risk while taking care of the people who have been tested positive," Sharma said.

"Last, but no the least, my heart goes out to the people who have lost their lives and their families. Take care and be safe," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has rescheduled the start of IPL 2020 from March 29 to April 15 in wake of the Coronavirus fears. Rohit Sharma will now be seen in action during the 13th edition of Indian Premier League, leading the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the T20I tournament.
