Virat Kohli turned 31 on Tuesday (November 5) and was showered with birthday wishes from cricketers, sportspersons and celebrities not just in India but around the world. Social media was buzzing from 12 AM overnight as fans trended hashtags related to the Indian captain's birthday with a lot of love and passion.

Virat's hunger for success is well documented and he works incredibly hard to achieve his goals and motivate others to follow his way. Being the only international batsman to achieve 50 or more in all three formats is something that truly tells how consistent he is irrespective of format or conditions. He is looked at as a role model by youngsters as well as fellow cricketers for the importance he gives to fitness.

Kohli has already achieved legendary status and has broken many records at the age of 31. He appears set to become the second batsman to score 100 international centuries after his idol Sachin Tendulkar, as he is only 31 centuries short of the incredible milestone with many more cricket seasons to come yet.

The champion Indian cricketer is currently on a short break from cricket as he has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh. After celebrating Diwali with his loved ones, he and his wife Anushka Sharma took off to spend some time in the scenic mountains of neighbouring country Bhutan.

Anushka Sharma, who has been active on social media lately posting pictures and sharing experiences of their holiday, took to Instagram to post an adorable wish for her husband on Tuesday evening. She captioned it beautifully, saying, "This one is my blessing . My friend , My confidante , My one true love .
I hope you find the light guiding your path always and may you choose to do the right thing every time . Your compassion is what makes you a good leader and i pray that you always have that in abundance .
Happy Birthday my love"

Kohli will soon be back on national duty as he will lead India in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting on November 14. The second match of the series will be a historic one as it will be the first-ever day/night Test for both teams and also the first such contest in India with the pink ball.
