The members of the Indian cricket team are known to share healthy rapport among themselves. That camaraderie often spoils over to the social media, where the fans get to know about the mutual relationship between players.
On Monday (September 10), India batsman Rohit Sharma took to Twitter and wished his team-mate Manish Pandey a very happy birthday as the latter turned 29. In his post, Sharma also advised Manish to stay hydrated for the forthcoming Asia Cup in UAE.
“Happy birthday @im_manishpandey hope you’re staying hydrated to prepare for Dubai heat ????. See you soon,” Rohit tweeted.
It is worth mentioning here that Rohit Sharma will lead India in the 14th edition of Asia Cup in the absence of regular skipper, Virat Kohli. Considering the draining England tour, the BCCI had decided to rest Kohli for the high-octane tournament.
Manish Pandey has also been named in India’s 16-member squad after his impressive showing in the recently concluded Quadrangular series for India ‘B’ against India ‘A’ and the ‘A’ teams of Australia and South Africa.
After his poor outing in IPL 2018, Manish was left out from India’s ODI squad for the England tour. He hasn’t featured in a 50-over match for India since December 2017. The upcoming Asia Cup will certainly be a massive opportunity for him to cement his place in India’s fragile middle-order.
The 2018 Asia Cup will see six teams being divided into two groups. While India, Pakistan and Hong Kong are slotted in Group A, the Group B comprised of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
