Delhi and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Prince Yadav has revealed that he wants to play the ICC World Cup 2027 for India and win it, while playing with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The 2027 edition of the ICC ODI World Cup will be played in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe in October-November.
Yadav has been excellent for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2026, despite the poor performance by the team, which is at the 10th spot in the points table. Prince has 13 wickets to his name in the IPL 20,26 and his amazing showing has raised calls for his inclusion in the Indian team for upcoming matches.
The young fast bowler has stated that he wants to represent India in the 2027 ODI World Cup amid discussions about his selection. Prince has declared his desire to play for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup and help Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli win.
“Mera abhi toh vo hai ki mai Virat aur Rohit Bhaiya ke saath 2027 wala World Cup khel saku, aur vo hum jeete. Unke paas lagbhag saari trophies hai. Sirf ek 50-over World Cup abhi thoda sa (saath mein) nahi hai, toh mai chahunga ki India 2027 ka World Cup jeete aur mai part rahu uss team ka. Aur woh hum jeete toh unke liye bahut achi cheej hogi.
(Right now, my goal is to be able to play in the 2027 World Cup alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and for us to win it. They already have almost all the trophies. The only thing they are slightly missing (together) is a 50-over World Cup. So I would want India to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, and I hope to be part of that team. If we win it, it would be a very special thing for them)," Prince said in a video shared by LSG on X.
Notably, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli only play ODIs for India as they have retired from T20Is in 2024 and from Tests in 2025. They were recently part of the Indian team that played in the ODI series against New Zealand in January this year.
