The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come under fire for keeping the fans from seeing the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 tournament. Fans were eager to see their favorites Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in action on day one of the tournament on December 24.
Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai took on Sikkim in Jaipur, while Virat Kohli and Delhi faced off against Andhra Pradesh in Bengaluru. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 155 runs, helping Mumbai win by 8 wickets, while Virat Kohli slammed 131 runs as Delhi won by 6 wickets.
However, BCCI was unable to broadcast or live stream their respective games from the opening round of the tournament.
However, spectators were unable to see their victories since the BCCI chose to broadcast only two matches from the first round. While the BCCI did release footage of Kohli and Rohit's innings, the board received criticism from fans for the low video quality.
Fans took to social media to mock BCCI for poor-quality videos and not telecasting the matches featuring stalwarts of the Indian team online or on TV.
