Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian opener, likened former captain Rohit Sharma to Ranveer Singh's film Dhurandhar.

Speaking at the Agenda AajTak conference, Jaiswal expressed a great deal of affection for the senior Indian player and implied that, despite his laid-back exterior, Rohit has a lot of strength and personality.

Under Rohit's leadership, Jaiswal made his India debut and has excelled in the national squad. He has established himself as a member of the Test team and is currently making a strong case for himself in the ODI squad.

The left-hander is one of Rohit's well-known ‘garden me ghoomne wale’ lads and has always had a positive rapport with the Indian skipper.

On Wednesday, December 10, Jaiswal was given a list of film titles and instructed to select an Indian cricketer who resembled each one. When Jaiswal heard the name of Ranveer Singh's upcoming release, Dhurandhar, he immediately thought of Rohit Sharma.

The next film title assigned to him was Baahubali. Jaiswal took a moment to reflect before naming Yuzvendra Chahal. While many assumed Jaiswal was taunting Chahal due to his little stature, he reminded everyone that the leg spinner is extremely mentally powerful.

Jaiswal went on to say that Rohit Sharma cared about the junior India stars, which was evident even when he scolded them. The opener stated that the presence of Rohit and Virat was a major motivator for the Indian ODI team, which learns a lot from the two.

"Rohit and Virat being in the Indian team is of huge help. Just from the things that they discuss in the dressing room, you learn about the game. We get motivated by seeing them—the way they have played at such a high intensity for so many years. We get motivated.

They teach us like little brothers. They tell us not to commit the mistakes that they made, not only as cricketers but as humans as well. Rohit bhai scolds us but loves us the equal amount as well. If he is scolding us, you know that he is coming from a place of care," Jaiswal added.
