The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi was praised by the governor of Sindh in a public program for making the whole of India beg for the Asia Cup trophy while calling the Indian team terrorists.
The Indian team had defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 tournament in Dubai to win the title. However, Mohsin Naqvi, who is the ACC chief, was present at the dais, and the Indian team refused to take the winner’s trophy and medals from him.
This was after the recent military fight between India and Pakistan that led to India launching Operation Sindoor on Pakistan, hitting multiple air force bases, in reply to a drone attack by the neighbors.
Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian armed forces in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack by Pakistan-based terrorists, which cost the lives of 26 tourists, including foreigners.
As a result, the Indian team refused to shake hands with the Pakistani players at the toss and after the games, while the Pakistani players mocked the Indian team and fans by making gestures, including Mohsin Naqvi himself.
The Asia Cup 2025 trophy dispute shows no indications of resolution, with Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi still keeping the trophy in his office.
Naqvi prefers to just hand the trophy to a member of the Indian squad, preferably at a ceremony in Dubai. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has repeatedly rejected Naqvi's demands, creating an impasse.
Meanwhile, Kamran Tessori, Governor of Sindh, praised Mohsin Naqvi’s brilliant move against the Indian team in a video that has gone viral on social media. In the video, Tessori calls Indian players terrorists and states that Naqvi handled them well, and now the whole of India is begging for the trophy.
"Jab ye ground mein khade the aur Indian team trophy nahi le rahi thi, inhone sabr ka muzahira kiya. Khade rahe, khade rahe. Wo chahte the ki agar ye hat jayenge to hum kisi aur se le lenge. Lekin unko nahi pata tha ke hamara chairman wajir-e-dakhla bhi hai. Unhone team ko baad mein dehshat gardon ki tarah handle kiya, trophy gaadi mein rakh ke saath le aaye. Ab poora India trophy ke peeche bhag raha hai.
When he was standing on the ground and the Indian team was not taking the trophy, he demonstrated patience. He kept standing, kept standing. They (the Indian team) wanted that if he moved aside, they would take it from someone else. But they did not know that our chairman is also the Wajir-e-Dakhla (Interior Minister). He then handled the team like dehshat gardon (terrorists), kept the trophy in the car, and took it away with him. Now, the whole of India is chasing the trophy,” Tessori can be seen praising Mohsin Naqvi, who smiled smugly on the dais.
Naqvi is pleased by the praise and doesn’t say anything as the Sindh governor continues.
