Thanks to the centuries by John Campbell, Shai Hope, and Amir Jangoo, the West Indies piled up 405/7 in 50 overs, their first-ever score of 400-plus in the format. India had a tough chase on their hands, but Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 255 runs for the first wicket in 26 overs.

Sharma made 101 runs with 10 fours and 6 sixes before his dismissal. Shubman Gill continued on and made 223* with 26 fours and 8 sixes as India chased down 405 runs in 43.3 overs and won the game by 8 wickets.

Rohit Sharma was asked by Star Sports to design his "ultimate ODI batter shot by shot," and he chose Sachin Tendulkar for his straight drive and Virat Kohli for his cover drive. He then chose Shikhar Dhawan for the flick shot. When he was asked for the batter with the best cut shot, he thought for a while before naming Virender Sehwag.

Suryakumar Yadav was picked for his sweep shot, and then Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were chosen for their six-hitting abilities. Finally, he was asked for batters who ran well between the wickets.

Rohit Sharma named Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja as the three batters who challenged their batting partners with quick runs.
