Sri Lanka and India faced each other in the series-deciding third T20I at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Thursday (July 29).
Opting to bat first, the visitors posted a paltry 81/8 in 20 overs. It was a listless performance as none of the batters managed to touch the 25-run mark. Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the top scorer with unbeaten 23.
For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga was the stand-out bowler, claiming 4 wickets by conceding only 9 runs in his four overs. Captain Dasun Shanaka also returned with impressive figures of 2 for 20 in his four-over quota.
In reply, the hosts chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand and 33 balls to spare. Dhananjaya de Silva was the top scorer with 23 not out off 20 balls while Hasaranga remained unbeaten in the middle with 9-ball 14.
Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar was the lone warrior with the ball for India, taking 3 wickets for 15 runs in his four overs.
With this victory, Sri Lankan team clinched the three-match T20I series 2-1 and received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
