The Mumbai-based batsman Suryakumar Yadav who had impressed everyone with his fantastic batting for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been quite impressive at the international level as well.
Yadav in the recent T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday (25 July), scored his second half-century in the shortest format and took India to a respectable total of 164/5 after the team had lost a few early wickets.
Ramiz Raja, in his latest YouTube video, was impressed with the right-hander's batting and hailed Suryakumar Yadav for his ability to keep playing fearlessly despite batting in tough conditions.
“Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant inning. It doesn't seem that he is playing his first season for India because he has almost instantly announced himself on the international stage. To bat with a certain tempo and to improvise without taking risks is really difficult. Be it a slower bowl, or a Yorker or a bouncer – nothing can harm him as he has a lot of options to attack,” Raja said.

The cricketer-turned-commentator then talked about how Suryakumar is very strong temperamentally and has been performing consistently in limited-overs cricket for India.
“He is temperamentally strong. He scored fifty off 34 balls which isn’t easy at all, especially when the conditions are tough to bat on. He played top-quality innings. He has consistency as well. To maintain consistency in white-ball cricket is very tough because you need to take chances,” the 58-year-old said.
“Suryakumar takes chances with lesser risk. He has an array of shots – he smashes out of the park for a six and also plays grounded shots. He is surely a great find,” Raja signed off.
After the first T20I win, Team India will be taking the field against hosts Sri Lanka in the second T20 match of the three-match series on Tuesday (27 July).
