BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Monday (June 14) has confirmed that former Indian captain and his one-time teammate Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian team on the tour of Sri Lanka from July 13 to 25.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Ganguly said, “Rahul Dravid will be the coach for the India tour to Sri Lanka,” thus confirming the reports suggesting the appointment of Dravid, who has been coach of India A and India U-19 in the recent past.
Dravid, who is currently the head at National Cricket Academy, will be coaching the Shikhar Dhawan-led team for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The 20-member team was announced last week. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named the vice-captain.

Most of India's first choice white-ball players are currently in England where they will play the World Test Championship final against New Zealand and then a five-match Test series against hosts England in August-September.
With India blessed with a strong bench strength, the board did not hesitate to schedule the short white ball series in absence of key players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and others.
The squad will be quarantining in Mumbai for two weeks starting on Monday, and then will board the flight to Sri Lanka where they will again be required to quarantine for a while before being allowed to train and practice.
