India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was on song with the ball in South Africa's first innings of the ongoing third Test in Cape Town, as the speedster hit the Proteas early by dismissing openers Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram cheaply, and then wrapped up the lower order to take a five-wicket haul.
With India scoring only 223 in its first innings, it was important for the spearhead to stand up and lead the bowling attack. After picking up just one wicket on the helpful pitch in Johannesburg, there were few questions asked about his effectiveness post a back injury that had kept him out for a while.
Bumrah bowled with fire and made the life of the Protea batters very difficult. He also enjoyed his third wicket of Marco Jansen in particular, after their heated tussle in the second Test.

The one-time Mumbai Indians exchanged few words after Jansen bowled few short deliveries at Bumrah, who took few steps to have a word with the South African before the umpire stepped in.
Jansen had no answer with the bat to a brilliant delivery by Bumrah as he was cleaned up, and walked back to the pavilion even as the Indian fast bowler gave him a cold stare.
