The Indian team landed in South Africa on December 16, Thursday, for their upcoming three-Test and three-ODI series which starts with the first Test in Centurion on December 26 onwards. The 18-member Indian team and coaching and support staff will be staying in a strict bio-secure environment.
The second Test will begin on January 3rd in Johannesburg and the final Test match will start on January 11 in Cape Town. India has not won a Test series in South Africa since 1992 and their best result is 1-1 draw in 2010. India has won a total of 3 Test matches in rainbow nation.
The official Instagram account of Indian cricket team shared the photos of players and coaches reaching the South Africa.
It showed players like KL Rahul, captain Virat Kohli, coach Rahul Dravid all wearing masks and face shields, given the prevalent Omicron variant of Coronavirus in the country.
