Virat Kohli on Friday (March 4) added one more feather to his already illustrious hat as he became only the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches.
The former skipper achieved this feat in the opening Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali, where India won the toss and opted to bat first.
The hosts got off to a brisk start as the duo of skipper Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal added 52 runs for the opening wicket inside 10 overs.

Lahiru Kumara drew the first blood for Sri Lanka by dismissing Rohit on 29 while Lasith Embuldeniya got rid of Mayank on 33 to reduce the visitors to 80/2.
Agarwal’s wicket led to the arrival of Virat Kohli at the crease and the fans at the stadium were on their feet to greet the veteran batter.
The stadium may not be jam-packed but Kohli received a rousing reception with the spectators applauding and cheering for him all the way through.

Virat Kohli successfully negotiated the first session to take India to 109/2 at Lunch break. While he remained unbeaten on 15, Hanuma Vihari stayed on 30 not out while batting at No. 3.
