The recently concluded nerve-wrecking Test match between India and Australia at Bangalore bought with it a lot of interesting records. With his 6-41 in the second innings of the match, Ravichandran Ashwin has now become the fastest to capture 25 five-wicket hauls in history. Additionally, Ashwin also completed 200 wickets at home and in just 30 Tests. This now makes him the quickest among the four Indian bowlers to have reached the mark of 200 Test wickets at home.

Anil Kumble:

The tireless workhorse from India was a fantastic leg-spinner who rarely got much global appreciation. And yet, his records are simply outstanding. In 63 Tests at home, Kumble captured 350 wickets at an average of 24.88 with 25 five-wicket hauls and 7 ten-wicket match hauls. His best was the outstanding, record-breaking 10-74 against arch-rivals Pakistan at Delhi on February 1999 - only the second instance in history where a bowler managed to grab all the 10 wickets in an innings. He was often unplayable in home conditions and made life hell for visiting teams for more than a decade.

Harbhajan Singh:

It was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2001 that turned the fortunes of this quirky off-spinner and took him straight into the record books. Harbhajan snared 32 wickets in that series and then continued to do exceedingly well in his career at home. In 55 Tests at home, Harbhajan captured 265 wickets at an average of 28.76 with 18 five-wicket hauls and 4 ten-wicket match hauls. He had a best of 8-84 in the famous Chennai Test of 2001 against Australia.

Kapil Dev:

It's rare to find a seam bowler doing so well in sub-continental conditions on a consistent basis. But Kapil Dev was one of them. With his swing, seam and persistent line, Kapil managed to get 219 wickets in 65 Tests at a superb average of 26.49 with 11 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket match hauls at home. His best was that incredible 9-83 against West Indies in the Ahmedabad Test in 1983. These are, indeed, quite excellent numbers and reinstates Kapil Dev as one of India's all-time great fast bowlers.

Ravichandran Ashwin:

The current leader of India's bowling attack, Ravichandran Ashwin is creating and breaking bowling records much like Sachin Tendulkar did with the bat in his heydays. Much like Kumble, Ashwin is creating troubles for opposition batsman with his sharp turn, bounce and variations and is unstoppable at the moment. His numbers at home are simply phenomenal. In just 30 Tests at home, Ashwin has already picked up 202 wickets at a stunning average of 21.99 with 20 five-wicket hauls and 6 ten-wicket match hauls. His best has been the 7-59 he picked against New Zealand in Indore in the current home season. And going by the way Ashwin has been performing throughout the ongoing home season, one can be assured that he will add a few more wickets to that tally.
