Team India’s preparation for the T20 World Cup 2022 seems to be on the right track as they registered a series-clinching 16-run victory over South Africa in the second T20I in Guwahati on Sunday (October 2).
Asked to bat first, the hosts piled up a mammoth 237/3 in their 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav (61 off 22 balls) and KL Rahul (57 off 28 balls). Virat Kohli (49* off 28 balls) and captain Rohit Sharma (43 off 37 balls) also made notable contributions with the bat.

Defending the total, Indian bowlers reduced the Proteas to 47/3 after 6.2 overs. However David Miller produced a counter-attacking knock of 106 not out from 47 balls and was well supported by Quinton de Kock’s 48-ball 69* to make a match of it.
While the visitors failed to overhaul the massive target, they managed to reach a strong 221/3 in their stipulated 20 overs.
As a result, the Men in Blue took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
Rohit Sharma and his men were ecstatic after the series victory and they took to social media to rejoice their success.
