Indian captain Virat Kohli’s controversial LBW decision in the ongoing second and final Test against New Zealand has sparked a huge debate on social media, as to if it was a correct decision or not made by the TV umpire.
The Indian captain, who made a return to the Indian XI after missing out on the T20I series against the Kiwis, was adjudged LBW on his fourth ball of the innings, as he departed for a duck.
After he was given out by the on-field umpire Anil Choudhary, Kohli reviewed the dismissal but the third umpire was forced to stick with the original decision due to inconclusive evidence.
As the replays were shown, TV umpire Virender Sharma was of opinion that bat and pad remain too close to the ball at the point of contact, and that the initial impact point couldn't be ascertained.
Kohli was left dumbfounded as he left the field shaking his head.
