After New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has also decided to skip the upcoming three-match T20I series against India to focus and prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series.

The three-match T20I series will start on Wednesday, November 17 in Jaipur, with the second and third T20Is to be played on November 19 and 21 in Ranchi and Kolkata, respectively.

The upcoming two-match Test series between India and New Zealand will kick start the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship and Jamieson has decided to prepare for the Test series, starting on November 25 in Kanpur.

According to stuff.co.nz, Gary Stead stated: “We decided through talking with Kane and Kyle that they won't play in this T20 series. They're both going to get ready for the Test matches and I think you'll find there will be other guys involved in the Test matches that won't play the entire series either.”

The head coach further added, “It's a bit of a balancing act at the moment, and with three T20 games in five days plus travel to three different cities, it's a very, very busy time.”

Notably, New Zealand hardly got any time to regroup and train for the T20I series against India after losing the T20 World Cup 2021 final to Australia on November 14 in Dubai.
