Aakash Chopra has expressed his dissatisfaction at the India squad selection for the upcoming three-match T20I series against New Zealand at home.

Ahead of the first T20I in Jaipur on Wednesday, November 17, Chopra has questioned India’s selection and said that it is almost impossible to pick an India playing XI for the series opener without being a little unfair on a few players.

Notably, India’s 16-member squad has five openers in Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, and Venkatesh Iyer and the cricket expert believes that the Indian cricket team will have to make adjustments and play players in positions which “aren’t ideal for them”.

Ahead of the match, he took to Twitter to share his views on the playing XI with a series of tweets.

Chopra wrote on Twitter, “Almost impossible to pick India playing XI for tonight without being a little unfair on a few players—either can’t play them or play them in positions that aren’t ideal for them. Such has been the selection.”

In another tweet, the former batter has opined that India may have to pick between R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal due to the dew factor, as he feels Akshar Patel is going to play as an all-rounder in the first T20I against the Black Caps in Jaipur on Wednesday.

He said tweed, “The other issue is dew…which is going to be loads considering the venues and the weather. Can’t play three spinners. Will have to leave out one between Ashwin and Chahal. Axar plays as he’s the only all-rounder in the side who could bat at 7.”

However, later, Chopra managed to pick his playing XI for India for the first T20I against New Zealand,
