Ahead of the third and final ODI between India and England on July 19, 2026, head coach Gautam Gambhir and veteran batter Virat Kohli were seen in a lengthy conversation. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, who was at the center of all retirement rumors, was seen conversing with fielding coach T Dilip.

The discussion between Kohli and Gambhir was intriguing because there have been many rumors regarding a breakdown in Virat Kohli's relationship with head coach Gautam Gambhir ever since he departed from Test cricket last year.  

The two have not been spotted conversing in the dressing room or during training sessions since last year's ODI series against Australia. Gambhir and Kohli were not even seen talking to each other before the first ODI against England; instead, the former India captain was spotted conversing with batting instructor Sitanshu Kotak.  

Gambhir and Kohli were also seen chatting away ahead of the toss for the third ODI at Lord's. The former India captain was seen listening as Gambhir spoke. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was seen talking to fielding coach T Dilip. 

Additionally, Kohli and Gambhir were spotted seated next to one another at the High Commission during the visitors' visit before the third and final ODI between India and England.

The two were seen laughing and conversing in a photo that the official BCCI social media account posted. Gambhir and Kohli were also spotted sitting next to Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bat first and made one change, bringing in Josh Tongue for Saqib Mahmood. On the other hand, India made three changes, bringing in KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh and Prince Yadav for Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah.
