ENG v IND 2022: WATCH- Virat Kohli walks out to bat in second ODI at Lord's

Kohli replaced Shreyas Iyer in the India XI for the second ODI against England at Lord's.

Virat Kohli | TwitterIndia batter Virat Kohli may be out of form and struggling for runs but the respect and fandom that he commands hasn’t eroded in the last 2-3 years. Something similar was seen when the Lord’s ground Twitter handle shared a video of him walking out to bat in the second ODI against England on July 14.

Kohli had missed the first ODI due to a slight groin niggle and came into this match replacing Shreyas Iyer in the playing XI.

An unchanged England had batted first after Rohit Sharma had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Moeen Ali (47) and David Willey (41) and contributions from Jonny Bairstow (38) and Liam Livingstone (33) took England to 246 in 49 overs. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal picked 4/47, while Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya picked 2 wickets apiece.

Meanwhile, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan struggled as Reece Topley and Craig Overton swung and moved the new balls well at the start. Rohit Sharma fell LBW to Reece Topley for a 10-ball duck.

And that’s when Virat Kohli came into bat and the official Twitter handle of Lord’s ground shared a video of Kohli emerging from the visitors’ dressing room, walking down the steps and into the long room on his way to the middle.

The famous walk. Here comes, @imVkohli,” the caption read.
