Leicestershire all-rounder Roman Walker has opened up about taking the prized wicket of India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli during the ongoing four-day warm-up match at the Grace Road in Leicester.

Walker might have not yet made his first-class debut, but he was still impressive and dangerous during the warm-up match between Leicestershire County Cricket Club and India.

The 21-year-old bowler impressed one and all with his outstanding bowling performance against India, as he ended the first innings with five wickets from his 11 overs, taking the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, and Virat Kohli.

Walker took one of the most memorable wickets of his career, of Kohli, in the 41st over of the first innings with a full-length delivery. He bowled an away-swinger pitched on the middle stump, and it hit the former India captain's pads, who was given out lbw.

Well, Kohli (33 runs off 69 balls) was surprised at the decision, but the umpire adjudged him out LBW and he had to walk off, as Walker celebrated his wicket with his teammates, including Pant.

Speaking to Leicestershire’s in-house media team, Foxes TV, Roman Walker said:You want to play against India when they come along. (I was) Surprised to take 5. Kohli’s wicket was a nice moment for me. A couple of my mates texted me saying there's one for the grandkids.”

He added, “It's a great thing to learn from the other end. Just talking to him about options, and how to play different bowlers, very valuable. Yeah, they (Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna) are great blokes. I mean, they talked to me almost every ball whenever there was room for a bit of advice.”
