Cricket fraternity witnessed a hilarious moment during the fourth day’s play in the ongoing penultimate Test between India and England at the Oval.
It was the 132nd over of India’s second innings when this incident occurred, involving Rishabh Pant, Moeen Ali and Haseeb Hameed.
Pant nudged a delivery from Ollie Robinson to the leg-side and there was a massive mix-up between him and Shardul, who was at the non-striker’s end.
In fact, the southpaw had crossed the mid-pitch and a direct hit would have sent him packing. But it was the comedy of errors from the English fielders that left everyone in splits.
While Moeen missed the direct hit, Hameed who was backing up also had the time to run the batter out but he fumbled a lot to give Rishabh Pant a life.
Here’s the video:
At that point, Pant was batting on 37 and he went on to make 50 before getting out. The visitors were 445/8 at Tea on Day 4, extending their second-innings lead to 346 runs.
