"Sack the ECB and save Test cricket," the message read as it flew over the ground during the 25th over of India's second innings in the second session.

Meanwhile, India bowlers ended the England innings quickly at 432 but conceded a huge first-innings lead of 354 runs.

India was bowled out on day one for just 78 runs, while the England top-three all scored half-centuries and Joe Root celebrated playing on his home ground with a sublime 121.

India in their second innings, lost KL Rahul for eight when the bowler induced an edge, and Jonny Bairstow, at second slip, dived to his left to pluck a stunning one-handed catch. Indian then saw a lengthy partnership between Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara, who added 82 runs for the second wicket.

But Ollie Robinson dismissed Rohit LBW for 59 in 156 balls with 1 six and 7 fours, leaving India 116/2.
