Former England cricketer David Lloyd wants India captain Virat Kohli to be penalized for always questioning the on-field umpires. His remarks came after the first day's play at Headingley between India and England.

India's fast bowler Ishant Sharma completed an over with nine deliveries, which included a wide and two no-balls. Kohli, seemingly, wasn't happy with the wide decision made by umpire Alex Wharf during the over.

Lloyd, in his Daily Mail column, wrote that a person of Kohli’s stature shouldn't be doing this and getting away with it. “Virat Kohli is one of the great players, but I find it so disappointing that he constantly questions umpires’ decisions.

"Ishant Sharma overstepped twice in his first over, then bowled an off-side wide, which was correctly called by Alex Wharf. From first slip, Kohli was clearly unhappy, and made his feelings known,” he wrote in his column.

“At the end of the over, he took it up again. It’s just wide! The umpires should have the power to penalize what in my book is dissent,” he added.

India had an awful day at Leeds as they got bowled out for just 78 and couldn't pick up a single wicket of England before stumps. England are looking to continue the domination with 120/0 on the scoreboard and both the openers, Haseeb Hameed (60*) and Rory Burns (52*) scoring easily.
