ENG v IND 2021: "Siraj was the guy who made the difference with his positive attitude and aggression," says Vengsarkar

Siraj picked up eight wickets in the second Test at Lord's

Mohammed Siraj | GettyMohammed Siraj led the Indian bowling attack and picked up eight wickets in the match to set up India’s victory in the second Test at Lord’s. The pacer displayed unparelled aggression and brought a lot of energy on the field.

The right-arm fast bowler has been outstanding ever since an incredible debut Against Australia in the boxing-day Test at the MCG. He had to lead the bowling attack in only his third Test at Gbba, Brisbane and did so by picking up a fifer.

Former India batsman Dilip Vengsarkar praised Siraj and spoke about his rise as a Test bowler through IPL.

“Absolutely, Siraj not having shoes until a few years ago, we have seen few such players emerging in India after the IPL. If you see Siraj’s performance in Australia, he excelled on the tour after India lost the first Test and were bowled out for 36. Even Kohli had returned home," Vengsarkar said to Khaleej Times.

The former batsman also credited Siraj for his aggression and positive attitude that made a difference for Team India in Australia as well as in the second Test at Lord's.

“Then Siraj was the guy who made the difference with his positive attitude and aggression. He pulled the entire team up with his fiery spells. And they won against Australia in Australia. He played a huge part in that and since then he hasn’t looked back," he said.
