The Test series between India and England has heated up after a few intense moments between players of both sides in the second Test at Lord's. Indian players were fired up in the second innings after England had a go at Jasprit Bumrah, who had bowled a barrage of bouncers to James Anderson.
A report in The Guardian newspaper says that a couple of Indian players, who didn't feature in the playing eleven, were returning from the field to their dressing room, and they refused to give way to pace bowler Ollie Robinson who was walking out to bat.
The incident happened on the fifth day of the match when England were reduced to 90/7 while chasing 272 runs at Lord's. “As [Ollie] Robinson descends the pavilion steps, a couple of India players in tracksuits are coming back in the opposite direction, having just been out on the field delivering drinks. Robinson stops and waits for them to step aside," the report stated.
“They do not step aside. Robinson waits. They wait. Eventually, after a fashion, they sort of awkwardly squeeze past each other. The whole encounter lasts barely a couple of seconds and yet as a motif for this bruising, absorbing final day it is hard to beat," it added.
Recently, Nasser Hussain had commented on the drama in the second Test and said it's all fine until the line is crossed. "No. I love the way Kohli plays his cricket and this India side will not be bullied. The theatre and drama was exceptional. You don’t want people to get physical but we didn’t see that at Lord’s.”
“It’s a heated game and there is a lot on the line. I loved what was going on out there over the five days. It was box office – Test cricket at its absolute best,” he said in Daily Mail.
