Former England batsman Nick Compton on Wednesday (August 18) hit out at Virat Kohli for his aggressive attitude, terming the current Indian skipper as the “most foul-mouthed individual”.
Taking to Twitter, Compton recalled an incident from the 2012 Test series between India and England to put forward his point.
“Isn’t Kohli the most foul mouthed individual. I’ll Never forget the barrage of abuse I received in 2012 when the swearing stunned me to the point that he did himself a serious disservice,” he wrote.
The 38-year-old also praised the level-headedness of Sachin Tendulkar, Kane Williamson and Joe Root in his tweet.
“It highlights what a level headed and grounded man Root, Tendulkar, Williamson et al are," he further added.
Nick Compton represented England in 16 Tests from 2012 to 2016, scoring 775 runs at an average of 28.7 with two hundreds and as many half-centuries.
Coming to Virat Kohli, he was involved in an altercation with veteran England pacer James Anderson in the just-concluded Lord’s Test, which the visitors won by 151 runs on the fifth and final day.
In the past, Kohli has also indulged in altercations with players like Mitchell Johnson, Steve Smith, James Faulkner, Ben Stokes among others.
