India registered one of their most famous overseas wins on August 16 at Lord's as the team showed incredible character on the last two days to win the second Test by 151 runs.
After having conceded a lead of 27 runs in the first innings, India lost their inform openers before the deficit could be erased in the second innings and Virat too fell cheaply as the side was tottering at 55/3 and in danger of being blown away.
Veteran batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara (45) and Ajinkya Rahane (61) put on a fighting 100-run partnership to revive the hopes of the team and personally answered their critics who were questioning their place in the team after their low run of scores since the home series against England.

India eventually declared their innings at 298/8 with the help of an 89-run partnership for the 9th wicket between Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, and then, bowled out England for 120 in 51.5 overs to win the second Test with only 49 balls left in the match.
Rahane, who was India's highest scorer in the first edition of the World Test Championship, had been unable to put up big scores since his match-winning hundred at MCG in the second Test in Australia.
But, as the saying goes ‘form is temporary and class is permanent’, the Indian vice-captain stood up for the team in a near crisis situation to take them to some safety.
Taking to his Instagram on Tuesday, Rahane cheekily took a dig at his critics and wrote, "My reaction when the trolls get trolled!"
