Mohammed Siraj took four wickets in England's second innings | GettyRiding on lower-order batsmen Mohammad Shami (56*) and Jasprit Bumrah’s (34*) unbeaten 89-run stand for the ninth wicket, Team India posted 298/8 (declared) in their second innings, extending their lead to 271 runs over England on Day 5 of the second Test at Lord’s.

Chasing the target, the hosts got off to a disastrous start as they both openers for duck. While Bumrah dismissed Rory Burns in the first over, Shami removed Dom Sibley in the second.

Ishant Sharma accounted for Haseeb Hameed (9) and Jonny Bairstow’s (2) wickets as the visitors reduced England to 67/4 just before the Tea Break.

In the final session, Bumrah got the prized scalp of Joe Root (33) to trigger the collapse while Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc on England’s lower-order. Siraj got rid of Moeen Ali (13), Sam Curran (0) and Jos Buttler (25) in quick succession to put the final nail in the coffin.

Bumrah and Siraj eventually completed the formalities, removing Ollie Robinson (9) and James Anderson (0) respectively and wrapping England’s innings for 120 in 51.5 overs to secure India’s historic 151-run victory at Lord’s.

Indian pace-quartet shared the 10 wickets among them with Siraj (4-32) and Bumrah (3-33) doing the bulk of the damage.
